Dryland Training -- Tuesdays at 5:15 pm at Pacific Way Elementary
The Gymnasium will be booked for the end of outdoor sessions until the snow falls to accommodate dryland practice which is a new addition to our program. Most practices will be outdoors depending on weather conditions and darkness so be dressed for hiking, running and outdoor activities. Parents are encouraged to attend and participate.
Once the snow falls these Tuesday practice sessions will change to 6:00 pm at Stake Lake. Also once the snow falls another practice session will be added on Saturdays at 10:30 am at Stake Lake. This season there will be more weekends with non-scheduled practice sessions to allow more family ski weekends or the ability to go to Loppets or Ski Races.
The Focus for this year's program is to provide a high level of cross-country skiing skills to all participants. To allow this to happen we will request participation in practices and planned events.
Currently the planned events for this program this season include:
Jan. 1, 2012 -- Salmon Arm Fun Race in Salmon Arm (also BC Games trials race for individuals born in 1997 or 1998)
Jan. 7 - 8, 2012 -- BC Cup #1 in Kamloops
Feb. 18 - 19, 2012 -- BC Championships in Salmon Arm
Feb. 26, 2012 -- End of program lessons
Mar. 3, 2012 -- Overlander Loppet in Kamloops

The COST of this year's program will be:

With a maximum fee of $600 per family

Questions and Answers
Can I start later than Oct 4th? Yes. The fees stay the same and the expectation would be to attend both practices each week when skiing begins on snow.
Is there a recreational only program? Currently this is not being offered although it is integrated into the same program. The ski club is open to volunteers providing a recreation only or social league program. If you have interest in this option and wish to develop this further please forward your name.
As an introduction to skiing or to improve my cross country ski skills what does the ski club offer? This year we are offering a two day lesson to all ability levels.
