Who We Are

We are a volunteer-powered, not-for-profit ski club that has been welcoming skiers, snowshoers, and families for generations. What began as a small group of dedicated outdoor enthusiasts has grown into a vibrant community of over 500 members, all sharing in the joy of winter together.

Our story is one of giving back: members donating their time, energy, and resources to shape the lodge, trails, and programs we all enjoy today. At the heart of Overlander is a spirit of warmth and generosity that carries through every lesson, every trail, and every handshake in the lodge.

Our Trails

Our trails wind across land that has carried stories and footsteps long before ours, a place with deep roots and enduring connections that continue to be felt today. We are grateful for this land, from the gentle loops for beginners to challenging climbs for seasoned skiers, our 60 km of expertly groomed trails welcome every level. Snowshoers, night skiers, and even four-legged friends have their own spaces to explore.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated grooming crews and volunteers work tirelessly to keep the trails in top condition, and we’re proud of the care and pride they bring to every kilometre. With strategically placed maps and shelters, it’s easy to spend a whole day out enjoying the best of winter.

Lessons for Every Level

Whether it’s your first time on skis, you’re aiming to sharpen your technique, or you want to join one of our clinics, our instructors are ready to help. With patience and encouragement, they’ll meet you right where you are and guide you forward. Programs for kids, adults, and women-only groups mean there’s something for everyone to learn, and lots of fun along the way.

Each lesson is a chance to build confidence, connect with others, and enjoy the unique joy of winter on the trails.

A Place for Families

Parents love knowing their children are well cared for in lessons led by supportive, certified coaches. Kids love the fun of learning new skills, exploring the trails, and warming up in the lodge afterwards. With rentals available and food on hand, your whole family can spend the day outside without worry.

We know from many families, those simple days together lead to friendships, parties, and celebrations that stretch well beyond the trails—moments that remind us that winter joy is best when shared.

Join the Club

Becoming a member isn’t just about getting through the gate to the trails, it’s about helping to keep the whole experience alive. Your membership supports the grooming crews, trail maintenance, and programs that make the club a place everyone can enjoy.

It also comes with perks like discounts at local retailers and reciprocal agreements with nearby resorts. Whether you choose a seasonal pass, a day pass, or a snowshoe membership, you’ll know you’re supporting something much bigger than yourself… a community of people who care about winter, nature, and one another.

Volunteers Make It Possible

From grooming trails to helping with kids’ lessons, volunteers are the heart of our club. Their time and energy keep Stake Lake vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. We are deeply proud of the passion and dedication they bring, the early mornings, the quiet hours spent on the trails, and the countless small acts that make the experience brighter for everyone.

Their commitment is what turns a good ski club into a thriving community, and we’re always grateful for new hands and warm smiles.
