The Overlander Ski Club, operates the Stake Lake Ski and Snowshoe Trails, located just 25 km south of Kamloops. We are a family-friendly destination that is a winter playground for anyone who loves sunshine and great snow!

And we're looking to fill avariety of roles, including a Trail's Manager  and various lodge positions for the coming ski season.

Do you love to be outdoors in the winter? Do you like moose? Are you highly motivated and experienced in tourism?  If you answered yes to any of the above, then come work for the Overlander Ski Club!

We are looking to hire a: Trail's Manager.

This isn't a sit-down managers job!  You'll be working right in the heart of operations, being the face of the ski club to thousands of people over the season. 

What some of the duties include:

- all aspects of daily operations (eg. ticket sales, cleaning, trail & building maintenance)

-schedule, manage and if needed train, a small but dedicated team of staff

- working with our volunteers to coordinate grooming efforts

- maintain the club's website and social media presence 

-attend board or other meetings as needed

- other duties as needed for the operation of the trails

About you:

You are someone who loves dealing with people, isn't afraid of getting your hands dirty (or cold!), and has a passion for winter outdoors.

You have/are:

- grade 12 with some post secondary education

- significant customer service experience, preferably in a tourism or recreation setting

- experience at a supervisor or manager level in retail, tourism or recreation setting 

- current in first aid (OFA 1 or emergency minimum) or willing to obtain

- familiarity with basic computer and web applications

- available to work a variety of shifts between 06:00 - 21:00, including possible weekends and holidays

-have reliable transportation to the trails, we aren't on a bus route.

Ideally you:

- enjoy cross country skiing and/or snowshoeing

-have snowmobile experience

- are experienced with chainsaws and other hand / power tools

- have experience working with Small Water Systems

Position start will be as soon as possible with training prior to the start of ski operations. Interviews with physical distancing and other safeguards will take place once a suitable number of candidates have applied.

We are looking for a number of individuals to fill a variety of roles ranging from 8 - 35hrs / week .

What some of the duties include:

- greet visitors in the rental room or ticket booth

- equip guests with the appropriate gear to enjoy our trails

-maintain cleanliness of the rental room, day lodge and washroom buildings

-clean rental gear after use and maintain records of cleaning and use

-assist the ticket booth with ticket and rental sales when requested

-manage lodge and building occupancy to help maintain physical distancing

- other duties as needed for the operation of the trails

About you:

You are someone who loves dealing with people and helping them get the most out of their outdoor experience.

You have/are:

- customer service experience

- willing to work outdoors in winter conditions

- current in first aid (OFA 1 or emergency minimum) or willing to obtain

- available to work a variety of shifts between 09:00 - 21:00, including possible weekends and holidays

-have reliable transportation to the trails, we aren't on a bus route.

Ideally you:

- enjoy cross country skiing and/or snowshoeing

-have snowmobile experience

- are experienced with chainsaws

Position starts will depend on weather and operational need, but will likely be sometime in December, with training prior to start. Interviews with physical distancing and other safeguards will take place once a suitable number of candidates have applied.
